Our experience with The House Photographer has been excellent, with a high quality professional service. It was great to meet photographer Charles Fernandez, who arrived at our home promptly at the agreed time. He was very patient as our family prepared our home, and carefully explained each shot he wanted to take. We started at the front of the house, where he chose the right angle to capture features such as the porch very favourably, resulting in an image that presented our home perfectly. After speaking to numerous high street estate agents who were charging 1.5 to 2%, someone recommended looking at online estate agents which I wasn’t so sure about, but after doing my research and reading reviews it was between eMoov and Purple Bricks. I decided on eMoov as they were alot cheaper and Charles came round to provide the free valuation. Charles is down to earth and professional at the same time, and explains what needs to be done to have buyers interested. Wow. I was a bit concerned about going with an online agent rather than standard estate agent but I needn’t have worried.
So far the service has been outstanding. All my queries answered promptly, amazing photography and advice about presenting the house for the photos – Charles has been brilliant. Nothing has been too much trouble.
This will be my first experience with selling a property in London and as you can imagine i did a lot of research before appointing an estate agent. This review is for the first part of the process (why emoov, valuations and pictures) as I have postponed the day it will be advertised.
The first dilemma was between going online or high street. Some of the objections I found for not going online were: not a personal relationship, not knowledge of the area, cheap and poor quality of equipment/pictures. Since I have been looking myself for property only online and given the very low fees i thought to give it a try anyway.
So far I have been extremely happy about my choice and all the objections/concerns have been proved completely no-sense.
Charles made the process very simple and most importantly i felt he was more of a consultant / advisor than a simple (online) estate agent. He spent plenty of time in the property for the evaluation and the pictures, floorplan and virtual tour. I have been dealing with many estate agents (as a buyer) and his/emoov approach / attitude have been so far truly remarkable (I work in sales myself and I can say that the process so far has been outstanding).
Finally just an additional note on the quality of the pictures/virtual tour which went far beyond my and my partner exceptions. Extremely good quality done with professional cameras.
In all fairness, the quality of the picture is the reason why i decided to go with Emoov and not Purple Bricks or HouseSimple. I compared the old listings and Emoov pictures, at least in East London, have consistently been much superior during the last few months.

Don’t make the mistake of thinking that emoov’s low price means poor service. Nothing could be further from the truth. After his first visit in which Charles explained the benefits of emoov and provided an accurate valuation he then came back and spent almost 2 hours meticulously photographing our property. He explained in great depth how to get superb photographs that make your house look amazing – and it does! No detail is overlooked. He made the whole process educational and his chatty personality makes it much less stressful. We had 4 viewings within the first few days and fingers-crossed that the rest of the process goes as well.

Charles spent over an hour and a half on his first visit looking through the house, explaining patiently how emoov works and valuing our property. I was so impressed I signed up on the day. I have plenty of experience with traditional agents but emoov’s offering, headed by Charles in our case has blown me away. Fast, efficient and cost effective – not words normally associated with estate agents (sorry agents!!!)
Charles came back a few days later to take some amazing photos to help with our marketing. Each room was painstakingly set up to ensure best angles and lighting and everything now looks fab online.

Charles provided exceptional service, much better than I’ve received in the past using traditional agents. He did genuinely seem to want to get you the best price possible for your property, after all he doesn’t get a % of the sale price so why wouldn’t he. Nothing I say here will express how good a job he does taking the photos and the effort he goes through to get them right, all I can say is there isn’t a reason to not use Charles and 100 reasons to go with him.

What can I say. We didn’t know what to expect – I was presuming the photographer would come take 5 snaps and be gone within 5 minutes.
